Qualifying Standards & Totals

At all MPA Provincials AND CPU Regional & National events, all athletes must make weight in their elected weight class in order to compete. Athletes have 21 days to alert the meet director of changes to their weight classes. Age and event classes cannot be changed after registration deadline.

In order to achieve qualifying standards, you must achieve a total in the weight class you competed in the day you qualified.

For example, if you competed as a 93 KG lifter and achieved an 83kg qualifier, but did not achieve the 93kg qualifier, you are NOT qualified to compete in the 83kg class or any other class. However, if you achieve the 93KG total while lifting in the 93KG class, you may elect to compete as an 83kg, 93kg, 105kg or any other class that you wish to as you are qualified for the entirety of the age class category.
